Ultrasound is a diagnostic tool that uses the reflection of sound waves to provide an image of the internal organs of the body.
Ultrasound can be used to see pregnancies as well as determine the health of organs, identify a mass, excess fluid, and collect urine samples by cystocentesis. Ultrasound images can also be sent out to specialists for second opinions. This is all done without using invasive methods. Cornwallis Veterinarians Ltd operates a LOGIQe Compact Ultrasound so we can offer in house ultrasound diagnosis to our small animal patients.
Dr Oli Dubeau came to us with a very keen interest in the use of ultrasound. He continues to study the specific skills of performing and interpreting ultrasound findings.
