At Cornwallis Veterinarians we have a portable X-ray machine that we can take to farms. This allows us a look inside the body of our patients. We often take radiographs (X-rays) of legs, hooves, teeth, heads, and necks. In our sheep, goats, and calves we can often take X-rays of the abdomen and chest as well. Pre-purchase exams are often done using our portable machine as well.
The portable X-ray machine allows us to go to our patients when they are injured so that they do not have to be moved and stressed further. We can also take follow-up X-rays to monitor progression of injuries and diseases.
