Dr. Alyssa Nickerson grew up in Pubnico, NS and chose to become a Vet because of her love of all animals, especially horses.

After obtaining her BSc (Ag) with a major in Animal Sciences from the Dalhousie Faculty of Agricultural, she went on to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College. While in school, she worked as a Veterinary Assistant/receptionist, a Dairy farm labourer and in Animal Care Enrichment. After graduating from AVC, she worked for a year on PEI as a small animal veterinarian where she loved helping people help their pets.

Dr. Nickerson is happy to be home in Nova Scotia with her partner, as well as “Penny” her NS Duck Rolling Retriever and 2 cats “Albert” & “Matilda”.

In her free time, Dr. Nickerson enjoys hiking, trail riding, crochet/knitting and cooking/baking.
