Pet Identification

Cornwallis Veterinarians Ltd offers to place a tattoo in the ear

of your pet at the time of the spay or neuter surgery.  This is a

complimentary service to you.

The tattoo is an identification number specific to this practice and your pet.  Should your pet become separated from you while in the local area, then is found by someone other than yourself, this number will allow us to reunite you with your lost pet. Microchip Implant: Microchipping is a process where a small, uniquely numbered microchip is inserted by needle, under the skin, between the shoulder blades, of your pet.  This number is then registered with an international firm.  If your pet should become separated from you, then is found by someone other than yourself. This number can be scanned, read and traced back to you.  Veterinary clinics and animal shelters world wide have the necessary equipment to scan for the microchip number. Australia, New South Wales, Japan, Ireland and the United Kingdom have made or are in the process of making the microchip identification mandatory for pets in these countries.
